You and your business need an internet expert/design geek who will do more than sell you a cookie cutter design and send you on your way. You need someone to sit down face to face and listen to your goals, challenges, and marketplace niche to deliver a solution that fits your business and increases your revenue.
Big Boom Design offers a collaborative approach.
We want to have a clear understanding of your needs from the beginning and work with you throughout the website development process.
Planning, designing, building, launching and tracking a website is not an easy job. We divide the process into manageable segments and focus on excellent communication between us (the internet geeks) and the clients. Together, we build an amazing website that appeals to your target audience- and google.
Instead of operating behind a curtain, delivering a product and running, we teach our clients to manage their website and utilize social media to promote their business and optimize search engines. Our services include a free monthly class, so you'll never be left with unanswered questions (check out the Bridging the Digital Divide class page here).
Big Boom Design gets the job done with our team of capable computer geeks. Surrounded by the Blue Ridge Mountains, we are located on the Enka-AB-Tech campus, in the Small Business Incubator; it’s really beautiful out here.
Our office environment is friendly and smells like coffee grinds and white board cleaner. The days are broken up by periodic “geek outs” and “your mom jokes”, all in good taste of course, which helps keep the mood lively and productive. Drop by anytime and we’ll make you feel right at home.
Boomer Sassmann: Owner and Lead Internet Consultant
For over a decade, Boomer has built innovative, straightforward, and visually appealing websites that combine the ideal mix of form and function.
Before the days of Google (that’s the mid 90’s people), Boomer became fascinated with the internet. He recognized its emerging role in American culture and saw it changing the way people conducted every day business.
The idea that Joe Schmo could have his own platform and voice on the internet inspired Boomer and his entrepreneurial spirit to extend his special geek abilities to others. Boomer is an Internet history buff who excels at educating his clients while buidling effective websites, no matter how complex the site or unusual the client's needs.
In December of 2007, Big Boom Design was born and Sassmann headed down the path of sleepless nights and self employment towards the greater good.
Today, Big Boom Design consists of a five person staff and booming (yes we did) client base that stretches from Western North Carolina up to Canada and across to Washington State. We have a large client representation in Asheville, Boone, and Franklin, North Carolina, with our list of 300 plus amazing businesses growing daily.
Boomer provides an in depth knowledge in a variety of programs. He enjoys leading his team in creating beautiful, functional websites that increase the client’s revenue (we know because we track them and have long lasting relationships with our clients).
A graduate from Appalachian State University, with a degree in Industrial Design, Boomer is in his fourth year of running Big Boom Design and loving every minute of it. On the weekends you can find him tinkering on some type of automotive project or enjoying the beautiful view of the mountains at his home in Candler, NC. He loves to talk about the internet and always welcomes the chance to brainstorm over a local Asheville brew or tasty cup of coffee. Give him a shout… he’d love to hear from you. Phone: 828-545-3748.

Michael Hull - Lead Back End Developer
Originally from the Tri-Cities area of East Tenessee, Michael holds degrees in Mathematics from Belmont University in Nashville and from Northern Arizona University in Flagstaff. Instantly, he realized he had started on a path that would offer abundant challenges and learning opportunities as long as he chose to stick with it. Now working as a developer full time, Michael enjoys the way that coding appeals to the mathematical side of his brain while still allowing room for creativity and innovation.
